Victorian Amethyst Pearl Gold Necklace Pendant Chain Antiquaria

I’m a February girl and I live in a cold northern state where people tend to come as close as they can to hibernating bears in the month of February. So, sometimes I need a little something beautiful to get me through my birthday month. This particular Edwardian beauty would fit the bill nicely.

Hand crafted in England in about 1910, this wonderful 15 karat gold necklace has great contrast with its creamy white pearls and rich, violet amethyst gem. The top two pearls are peg set and measures about 5 mm and the bottom two are dangles that measure about 7.3 mm each, the teardrop amethyst at the bottom is bezel set and measures 15×8.5×6 mm and weighs about 3.65 carats. This necklace is marked with ’15c’ on the chain for 15 karat gold and we’ve acid tested the pendant as the same. The neck chain is 19.5 inches and the pendant is 43.5 mm north to south and 22.5 mm across, the necklace weighs 7.7 grams.
