Long Guard Silver Chain Heavy Decorative Antiquaria

This fantastic fully hand crafted and very decorative chain was made in about 1890. It is a 65.5 inch length of cute as a button round links made up of fancy roundels edged in a rope design, it has quite the flair. This chain was originally made as a woman’s watch chain or ‘long guard chain’. The chain is 5.6 mm wide and 5 mm thick. This one weighs 71.2 grams, and is marked on the bale but I can’t make out the mark, we’ve tested it as min 835 silver, probably Continental in origin.
