These vibrant orange beauties date to the 1820s, they are Night and Day earrings, and can be worn as just tops or with their joyful drops! Smooth cabochons of bright carnelian at the top and translucent teardrops swaying below create a happy vibe.
Hand crafted in the Georgian era, these simple yet lovely earrings are done in pinchbeck, a metal alloy that looks like gold, but isn’t. The earrings are 41.6 mm top to bottom with the drops on and 19 mm across at the widest point; together they weigh 3.4 grams.
These beautiful early earrings have a dormouse, or back to front closure, they open at the top of the earring and the wires come through the back of the ear. If you’re not familiar with this style of back, don’t fear, they are super comfortable and keep the earring held in the perfect spot, the key to using them is to gently wiggle them through from the back while applying gentle pressure, don’t force them, take your time and you’ll be a pro in no time!
