If I’m being honest, I bought this brooch to have my jeweler turn it into a ring. Only, every time I come across it I think, no, not yet. So, I finally just decided that this wonderful brooch just really wants to be a brooch!
This beautiful brooch would have originally been worn at the top of a blouse, just below the front collar. You, however, can wear it any way you like! The piece is set with a large, sparkling, richly colored faceted Citrine Gem of about 3.6 carats, and further set with 26, 1.7 mm creamy white pearls. I purchased this English beauty in London where it was made in about 1880, it’s marked with ’15ct’ for the gold content.
The brooch measures 17.5 mm north to south, 45.7 mm across and 11.8 mm from front to back. This piece is 6.1 grams.
