I sometimes have the jewelry buyers version of eyes that are bigger than my stomach! I bought this fantastic brooch because I fell in love with the juicy, large garnet gem that is the star of this show. I thought at the time that I’d have my jeweler make it into a ring or a pendant, but in truth I don’t always get around to all of the projects I bring home. So, here it is, in its original form, a lovely, rich and beautiful brooch!

This Antique brooch is hand crafted in sterling silver and set with a huge, foil backed garnet. The garnet is ringed in a halo of 39 small creamy, white pearls. The garnet measures 29.3 mm long and 15.5 mm wide, it’s not possible to get a depth. The overall brooch measures 35 mm long and 21.2 mm from top to bottom, it’s marked ’Sterling’ on the back, it weighs 12.5 grams.
