Antique French Diamond Pearl Crescent Brooch Pendant Antiquaria

When I was a kid, I would beg and plead for my parents to take me to the movie theatre; some would say I was obsessed. I used to turn around and look at the projector, I’d gaze at the little speck of bright light that glowed like the moon against the dark. It looked like a sparkling diamond, full of time and full of history. This brooch reminds me of that speck of light, a moon with diamonds that radiates, even in twilight.

This antique diamond and pearl crescent moon brooch sparkles with light. It was handcrafted in France around 1880. It’s decorated with six Old European cut diamonds patterned among nine pearls, set in silver over 18 karat gold. Each of the larger pearls measure 3.5 mm in diameter. The diamonds weigh approximately 1.32 total carats. This beautiful pin measures 32.4 x 34 mm and it weighs 9.5 grams. It bears French marks on the pin stem and has been acid tested.
