There is a story of the first Christian Roman Emperor, Constantine, which says that when he was marching with his army, he looked up to the sun and saw a cross of light above it. The cross contained the Greek words ‘Had Vince’, translated as ‘in this sign you will conquer’. At first Constantine was confused by this, but then Christ appeared to him in a dream and told him that he should use the sign of the cross to vanquish his enemies.

This antique Victorian bloodstone seal pendant was handcrafted in England around 1850. It’s a 15 karat gold fob seal with a rectangular flat cut intaglio bloodstone at the base. The stone is carved with the image of a glowing cross and the words, “Hac Vince”. This fob seal measures 27 x 18 x 15.9 mm and it weighs 9.8 grams. It bears no marks and has been acid tested.

This pendant fob is the perfect size for a chain around the neck or even on a chunky charm bracelet. The design of the glowing cross is clear against the dark bloodstone and the gold details are never ending.
