Antique Victorian Silver Locket Dated 1880 Antiquaria

Hand crafted from sterling silver in Birmingham England in the year 1880, this gorgeous locket is a beautiful example of repousse work. Featuring a hand hammered pattern worked from the reverse side, the intricately detailed workmanship contrasts perfectly with the mirror like finish of the sides and back. Surely an eye catcher and conversation starter then, and certainly no less intriguing today!

The interior of the locket has frames on both sides to hold your photos or keepsakes, and being a very wearable size, it measures 40.3 mm from top to bottom, 26 mm across and sits at 9.6 mm deep. This exceptional example of high Victorian craftsmanship and beauty weighs 8.3 grams and is fully hallmarked with a maker’s mark “HW”, as well as the anchor for Birmingham, the lion mark for sterling silver and, the letter mark “f” for the year 1880 .
