Hand crafted in America in about 1915 by the New York firm Larter and Sons, this ring is manly chuck of 14 karat gold carved with an intricate intaglio of a knight holding a shield with a stork or crane, another riding atop his helm while plumage flows around him in a decidedly Art Nouveau fashion.
Unlike some signet rings which are very small, this one is a very wearable size 7.75 and measures 17.3 mm north to south and 12.5 mm across, it narrows to 4.3 mm at the back of the band and weighs a hefty 15.2 grams.
